FAQs:

Do I need to bring anything?

Yes, just some swimwear, footwear that can get wet and a towel for the hot showers. We will provide a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and a spray top to help with wind chill on the body.

Do I need to pre-book?

No, you can just turn up and we will get you out on the next available slot.

How many can go sailing at once?

Up to 2 adults per go, 2 children per go or 1 adult and 1 child per go.

What if the weather conditions aren’t great?

Our sailors are very experienced and will go take people out if it’s safe to do so. They will make the call whether to sail or not. If not, then we have a backup try sailing day later in the year.

How safe is it?

Sailing itself is of course only performed if mother nature allows, however all our sailors and very experienced and will work in tandem with the organisers to ensure a safe trip, taking into account the wind strength, sea state, temperature, plus any individual worries/concerns.

Is there a certain level of fitness required?

A little yes. Ideally we’d like adults going sailing to have the ability to lift themselves out of a swimming pool without the use of a ladder if they needed to, however those trying sailing will always be with an experienced sailor who will look after you. If you have any concerns please do speak to us.

Is there food and drink available at the club?

Yes. We have a very good galley service offering hot & cold food made fresh to order, snacks and tea/coffee/soft drinks. Staff will cater for any allergies/dietary restrictions. Both card and cash are accepted.

Are there any costs?

No, our try sailing day is completely free to anyone! Only food and drink is charged at very reasonable rates.

What are the changing facilities like?

We have separate male & female changing rooms, complete with separate toilets and hot showers. Both changing rooms have a large disabled toilet each.
